The Fairy Chronicles is a series of modern fairy tales by J.H. Sweet, full of magical creatures, both good and evil, and heroic characters who participate in dangerous missions to protect nature and fix serious problems. Ideal for all ages, reading level ages 7+, the stories include a diverse set of fairy characters and a wide variety of other magical creatures.

Though you don’t have to read the books in any order to enjoy them, here is the order in which they were published:

1. Marigold and the Feather of Hope, the Journey Begins

Can you imagine having real magic powers? Meet Beth, who’s just discovered something incredible… she is a fairy, a marigold fairy, to be exact.

2. Dragonfly and the Web of Dreams

Jennifer, or Dragonfly to her fairy friends, is chosen to lead a fairy team to discover what happened to the Web and rebuild it immediately.

3. Thistle and the Shell of Laughter

The Shell of Laughter has been stolen! But who would dare to take the world's laughter? Only the Spirit of Sorrow would be so bold. So, Madam Toad decides to send Thistle, the fairy most full of laughter, to find it.

4. Firefly and the Quest of the Black Squirrel

Anathema Bane has created a curse so powerful that it will not stop until all life on Earth is extinct. Firefly, along with some old and new friends, has been chosen to stop this Perfect Curse.

5. Spiderwort and the Princess of Haiku

The Princess of Haiku, keeper of simple pleasures, has been kidnapped by her archenemies the Specter of Pandemonium and the Phantom of Excess, who currently inhabit two Ogre sisters, Plethora and Chaotica Glut. Simple pleasures everywhere are in danger.

6. Periwinkle and the Cave of Courage

Once every hundred years, the courage of humanity begins to fail. This century, Mother Nature has chosen a dwarf, a leprechaun, a gnome, a troll, two brownies, and four fairies to restore the Cave of Courage so that we can all bravely face the challenges in our lives.

7. Cinnabar and the Island of Shadows

Cinnabar and her friends have to travel by elf magic to reach the mysterious and secret Island of Shadows to try and locate the lost shadows.

8. Mimosa and the River of Wisdom

The girls of Fairy Chronicles are more than just cute fairies. And for Mimosa, protecting all the people of the world may be easier than saving just one.

9. Primrose and the Magic Snowglobe

None of the fairies at Madam Toad’s Fairy Circle have ever heard of a gargoyle who couldn’t sit still or a gremlin who liked fixing things instead of breaking them. What could have caused these magical creatures to act so strangely? And why do they all seem so much happier now?

10. Luna and the Well of Secrets

When fairies begin disappearing from around the globe, the fairy team must journey to the darkest place in the world to save them — a place that worries even Madam Toad—the Well of Secrets on the road to Eventide, the Land of Shadow.
