Ring Around the Moon

The ring around the moon is a light halo that is produced when there are ice crystals present in the earth's upper atmosphere. The halo effect is from moonlight reflecting off the ice crystals and back at the moon.

I have actually seen one before! I was told that it was called a Lunar halo, or something like that. It was beautiful!
