Do Your Own Interview

This summer, take some time to get to know your friends and family! Below is an interview taken from Mimosa and the River of Wisdom. After reading the interview, follow the instructions and create your own to ask your best friend, sister, mom, neighbor - anyone!

Dewberry Interviews Ju-ju

Dewberry: Where were you born?
Ju-ju: In a magical lily pond in the garden of a giantess.
Dewberry: How did you learn to air-swim?
Ju-ju: From a library book about birds and planes.
Dewberry: Was it hard to learn?
Ju-ju: The first time was really scary because I got air up my nose. Then I remembered I was a magical fish and could breathe air, so I was okay after that.
Dewberry: What do you like to eat?
Ju-ju: Watermelon, cheesy crackers, and worms.
Dewberry: What are your favorite things to do?
Ju-ju: Blow bubbles and look for fairies.
Dewberry: Why do you like fairies so much?
Ju-ju: Because they are pretty and kind, and they can fly!
Dewberry: What is your favorite kind of art?
Ju-ju: Watercolor paintings. (Ju-ju sighs.) I love watercolors.
Dewberry: What kind of music do you like?
Ju-ju: Handel’s Water Music.
Dewberry: Do you have any advice for our readers?
Ju-ju: Drink water instead of soda. It’s better for you.

Your Own Interview

Using Dewberry’s interview of Ju-ju as an example, try interviewing a friend or family member. You can learn a lot about someone just by asking some simple questions. In fact, you may learn something you never knew before! Here are some sample questions to get you started, but try coming up with some on your own. The key to a good interview is to ask questions that require more than a “yes” or “no” answer. For example, instead of asking, “Do you like fairies?” ask, “Why do you like fairies?” You will get an answer that is much more fun and interesting!

If I Were A Fairy...
My Fairy Name: Orchid
my Powers; i don't know what orchids do, but I would want to be really smart and to be able to make any flower bloom.
My Wand: The feather of a purple Martin bird
What i Would Look Like: (My outfit would be able to change color, cause orchids come in tons of colors, but each would be basically the same, except for the colors. The colors change depending on my mood.)
I would have a purple dress made out of orchid petals. The skirt part would be knee length. I would have dark brown hair, and green eyes. I would have purple shoes. I would have a necklace with small orchid petals as beads. i would have a matching necklace. i would have an orchid hair clip in my hair. my hair would be wavy and loose. it would go down to my shoulders.
My Wings: my wings would be a light purple. They would look like butterfly wings. i would be able to fly really fast.
Guide; i would have a guide, like Periwinkle, only mine would be a butterfly. the buttterfly's name would be Flutter. She is like me, whatever her mood is, the color changes.

If you you could have any fairy spirit, what would it be? I think i would want to be an orchid fairy.
What wold you look like? i would have a dress with the skirt part made out of orchid petals. It would be just a little lower than my knees, and it would be purple. My hair would be a dark brown, and it would be loose and would have a pink head-band. I would have a pink shirt underneath my dress. i would have really tiny orchids for earrings, and my shoes would be purple. My wings would be kinda glittery, and they would be a light purple.I would be able to fly really fast.. They would look like butterfly wings.
