Make a Dream Bracelet:
If you would like to create a Dream Bracelet for yourself just like the one the Dream Spider gave to Dragonfly, you can follow these ten easy steps. Make sure you have your parent's permission to do this before you begin. To begin, you will need: 6 strands of embroidery floss, each 25" long. Directions: 1. Use your scissors to cut six 25" long strands of embroidery floss. Each strand is part of the word "DREAMS." 2. Hold the ends of all six strands and tie a knot leaving a 3-4" tail on the end. 3. Now, tape the knotted end to a table, back of a chair or anywhere your parents recommend. 4. The strand on the far left is strand "D." Pick it up and loop it over and then under the strand to its right, strand "R," to make a knot. It is just like the first knot when tying your shoes. Hold strand "R" straight and pull up on strand "D" to pull the knot snug to the top. 5. Make a second knot exactly the same way using the same strands ("D" and "R"). 6. Now you can let go of strand "R." Now loop strand "D" over and under strand "E" to make a knot. Do it again. Make sure that you are pulling each new knot snugly to the top. 7. Repeat this process for strands "A," "M" and finally, "S." If you did this correctly, strand "D" will now be on the far right. Congratulations you have completed your first row! 8. The first string on the left is now strand "R." Pick strand “R” up and repeat steps 4 through 7. After each row, the strand you started with on the far left will be the strand that ends up on the far right. 9. Make sure that the bracelet is long enough to fit around your wrist and when you are done, you can trim the tail on top down if you want to. 10. Sleep well, enjoy your dreams and remember that you are now protected by the Dream Spider and the powerful Web of Dreams! |
