In her own words…

I was born in 1965 on an American military base in Japan. We also lived in Germany, Maryland, and Kentucky before ending up in Killeen, Texas where I graduated from high school in 1983. High school interests included drama and cosmetology. I received a degree in English from Texas State University in 1986. College interests included cycling and racquetball. I worked as a hairdresser part time while attending college, which is how I met my husband. He was one of my customers. I accidentally cut his ear one time during a haircut, but he married me anyway - brave soul. After an eleven-year career in Mental Health and Vocational Rehabilitation, I left work in 2002, which gave me the time and energy to begin The Fairy Chronicles saga.

I have an imaginary dog named Jellybean Ebenezer Beast. My hobbies include hiking, photography, knitting, and basketry. I also enjoy watching a variety of movies and sports. My favorite superhero is my husband, with Silver Surfer coming in a close second. I love many of the same things the fairies love including live oak trees, mockingbirds, weathered terra cotta, butterflies, bees, and cypress knees. In the fairy game of "If I were a jellybean, what flavor would I be?" I would be green apple.
